119 Rescue Command Center Provides Service for Vulnerable People

我國政府為提供國人良好的居家生活品質、保障生命財產安全，設置

119 緊急報案專線，自民國 48 年 12 月 1 日起開始（在此之前，我國的
火警報案專線電話為「09」），至今仍是全年無休 24 小時運作。

在今日，通訊科技的進步快速，技術可說是一日千里，自動電話（即
有線電話，一般稱為市話）門號數超過 1,900 萬門，而行動電話更是在
近 10 年來快速成長，目前門號數更超過 2,900 萬門（資料來源：國家

通訊傳播委員會，資料統計截至 103 年 1 月），行動電話門號遠超過一

般市話達 1,000 萬門，無形中更加速了行動電話服務的重要性。

To provide people with a good quality of life and ensure the protection of lives
and property, the government set up an 119 emergency hotline on December 1,
1959 (before this time, the fire emergency hotline had been“09＂). The hotline
is still a 24-hour operation that is open all year round.

Today, rapid advancements in communication technology are leading to
tremendous progress. There are over 19 million registered users of automated
telephones (Namely wired telephones, commonly known as local phones).
Furthermore, the popularity of the cell phone has been rapidly increasing over

the past 10 years, with over 29 million registered users today. (Source: National
Communications Commission, statistics as of January, 2014). The number of
registered users for cell phones surpasses those for automated phones by 10
million, elevating the importance of cell phone services.
