                                         This feature has been conceived as an attempt for the writer to
                                         share his knowledge and reflections on matters pertaining to fire
                                         prevention. Key issues, such as fire prevention in buildings with
                                         only one staircase and the matter of two-way evacuation, will be
                                         discussed as special topics. The writer has 41 years of experience
                                         in NFA, the bulk of which he spent on administrative work related
                                         to  fire  prevention.  He  has  also  conducted  talks  in  schools  to
                                         share about NFA administrative tasks and relevant statutes. The
      （1）                                topics he has covered include standards for fire safety equipment,
                                         reviews and inspections, maintenance and safety checks, equipment

                                         leverage the Fire Safety Monthly to elicit productive conversations.
