Since January 1, 2017, the new fire statistics system has been put into practice
to fully present the fire patterns, which are classified into Category A1, A2 and A3.
Among them, Category A1 refers to fire fatality cases; Category A2 refers to fires
leading to injuries or involving disputes, arson cases, and fires with causes to be
investigated; Category A3 refers to cases neither classified as A1nor A2, and need
to be closed with the "Fire Case Rescue Attendance Record Form" completed by the
branch in charge. Due to the different statistical scope, the statistics of 2017 will not
be compared with the previous ones.
