Hornets and snakes turn-seeing the light of business return

壹、消防人員執行之心路歷程

一、歷史背景

過去農村社會，民眾多有自行處理蜂蛇之自我保護能力，而且過去將蜂蛇等視其為營養食物或補
品的來源之一，民眾如有發現蜂蛇，多自行處理為主，案件數量並不多，加上當時消防勤務量尚可因
應，故能在正常勤務之餘，協助民眾排除。

In past agricultural society, most people were able to protect themselves by dealing with hornets and snakes.
At that time, hornets and snakes were also regarded as nutritious food or as a tonic. People tend to deal with
hornets and snakes by themselves when they were found. Cases for fireman to catch hornets and snakes were
relatively low at that time. Under such circumstances, the workload of fire fighter duty was manageable.
Hence fire fighters were also able to assist people removing hornets and snakes when requested.
