Taiwan, with many rivers and streams, is surrounded by seas. With the weather
becoming hotter and hotter due to global warming, treading water becomes one of the
most popular recreational activities for the locals during the summer and the autumn.
However, the qualified and safe recreational water areas planned and inspected by
related governmental bodies are few, many young students, under the scorching heat,
would turn to rivers, streams, lakes or seas treading water, without paying attention
to the warning of ¨No Treading Water© signs. Thus, resulting from such situations
as ¨being careless©, ¨ignoring warning signs©, ¨lacking proper treading water
concepts©, ¨ignoring tide changes and hidden strong currents© or ¨ not noticing
if body situation can withstand any environmental change in the water©, many a
drowning accident happened frequently.
