It is already hot summer. With the weather becoming hotter and hotter, more
and more people go treading water to beat the scorching heat. However, accidents
of being drowned occurred from time to time. People who go treading water should
choose a site where life guards are always on duty, who would perform emergent
rescue should any drowning accident or unexpected incident happen. So goes the
saying ¨An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure©. Prevention and notice
before going treading water is the best way to prevent any accident from happening.
So, during the summer, different ministries and councils of the central government
made important decisions on anti-drowning awareness promotion events. Only by
awakening and reminding the public of the potential dangers can we lower and even
eradicate any accidents.
In the report¨2012 Fire Fighting Organization Water Rescue Result Analysis©
published in April issue, we have comprehensively studied reasons and scale of
victims getting drowned while going treading water. We have also clearly defied
responsibilities and duties between central and local governments, which would
lead to the building up of a supervision system to execute water rescue plans and
make a water rescue data management system happen to guarantee people who
go treading water would be best protected from being drowned. What§s more, this
year, Ministry of the Interior, based on the core goal of ¨strengthening the rescue©,
kept holding rapids rescue professional trainings, hoping that all people who go
treading water during the hot summer would ¨happily enjoy themselves and return
home safely©.
