In this fast-paced society, human-made and natural disasters become more complex
day by day. In order to cope with the heavy tasks of disaster prevention & rescue,
firefighting organizations in different cities/counties, when a disaster happen, would have
to mobilize disaster prevention & rescue groups or volunteer firefighters to help rescue.
Governmental powers are limited but private sector§s resources are unlimited. In order
to take the advantage of the private rescue organizations efficiently and to maximize
their efforts should any disaster happen, National Fire Agency, Ministry of the Interior,
promulgated a long-term plan to upgrade the equipment for disaster prevention & rescue
groups or volunteer firefighters. The special report of this issue focuses on three 2013 top-
notch teams from disaster prevention & rescue groups, women advocacy squadrons or
volunteer firefighters organizations which receive regular supports and evaluations from
National Fire Agency, Ministry of the Interior to show you vividly how these responsible,
brave heroes help upgrade the efficiency of disaster preventions and rescues.
