119，這簡單好記的三個數字，也是國人在遇到緊急危難時腦袋裡
第一組浮現的數字。而這3個數字背後的意義，代表著無數的消防

人員冒著生命危險，搶救火災、震災、風災、山難等天災人禍下
的寶貴生命；是隨時待命，一通電話即刻出動的敬業態度。消防

人員的精神，正如同浴火昂揚的鳳凰，在苦難中仍展現人性最美
的光輝──發光發熱，捨身救苦。

19, three simple and easily-remembered figures, are also the same figures that would pop up

1on our mind whenever we come across an emergent situation. The meaning behind 119 is
that countless firefighters, at the risk of their own lives, try their best to rescue victims from fires,

earthquakes, typhoons, mountain disasters and so on. They are always ready 24/7/365. They would

go for the mission whenever the ring for help is called. The spirit of the firefighters, sacrificing

themselves to rescue others in the most emergent and difficult situations, just like the phoenix born
from the ashes and flying high, is both glorious and touching.
